An Unexpectedly Good Surprise

Last night the boy and I decided to go see a movie. It was a toss-up in between "The Bucket List" and "I am Legend." After checking Rotten Tomatoes, we decided to go see the latter (it had a significantly higher freshness rating).

I expected it to be good but only in a "Yeah, it was good...." kind of way. Instead it ended up being SO good! SO GOOD! The kind of good you rave about; like on your blog for instance. If you get the chance, you should totally go see it - and in the theatres too. It's the kind of movie that should be seen on a big screen with loud sound and in a dark room to boot.

Honestly, who knew that The Fresh Prince of BelAir (a.k.a: Will Smith) would turn out to be such a brilliant actor. Kudos to the man! Anywho - here's the trailer. It doesn't even hit at the brilliantness of the movie. But at least it will wet your appetite:

Blog Interrupted

I just wrote a whole blog entry only to lose it right before I posted it. I'll re-write later on....but just to give you a heads up, I'll be writing about the new Pearl Izumi campaign.

Needless to say, I'm not impressed.

Exercising while sick? Use the Above/Below the Neck Rule!

I brought back many fabulous things with me from my Christmas vacation....leather bags and silver jewlery from Mexico, outlet shopping finds from Oregon, and a few favourites from the store I heart - Target. Unfortunately, I also brought back a horrible hacking cough that has stayed with me.
It all started when I began to get a bith of a choking feeling in my throat while in Tijuana. Of course I thought it may have just been the exhaust fumes so I ignored the tickle. I shouldn't have. Now it's a full fledged cough that keeps me up at night and makes my morning and nights quite trying.
Worst part is that it's kept me away from the gym!!! That's right - today is the 7th of January, 2008 and I have yet to go to the gym this year!!!!! It's starting to drive me a bit crazy and I'm also starting to fear my inactivity coupled with my recent vacation will begin to show around my waistline.
So how do you know if it's okay to exercise while sick? Well according to the Mayo Clinic, you shold use the above/below the neck rule. It's pretty easy to remember and should help all of you determine whether or not it's okay to work out. Basically if your symptoms are above the neck (i.e.: runny nose or sore throat) it's okay to exercise. If, however, your symptoms are below the neck (i.e.: tummy aches or hacking coughs) you should stay away from exercising.
I guess that means yours truly will have to wait to begin her runs for the new year. Either that or I'll just have to go to sleep and hope that the symptoms somehow migrate to above the neck.
Somehow I doubt it though..........

One for the Shoebox

I am back from my road-trip with a beautiful leather bag, many cute outfits, a terrible cough courtesy of Tijuana, and best of all a trunk-full of memories!!!

I am still getting over my cold so I haven't written in the last few days. I did, however, want to share with you one of my pictures from the trip. It was taken at La Bufadora in Baja California, Mexico. I heart the photo. In fact, the boy and I have bought frames for it already!

Here's hoping your Holidays were just as enjoyable!!
