Foto Friday

guanajuato

Hola Bloggies:

It’s Friday again!!! I don’t know about you but the second half of my week seemed to just zoom by – which suits me just fine!

I was looking at the calendar the other day and realized that we’re only three months away from our wedding. EEEK!!!! That’s super exciting and yet a little stressful at the same time. The dress, the honeymoon, the invitations, the ceremony, the guests . . . there are so many details to with which to preoccupy myself. Thankfully, our wedding invitations will go out this following week. It’s later than we hoped it to be but we were pretty specific about what we wanted and we had to wait for certain materials to be sourced. Once the invites are out I’ll be sure to blog about our whole wedding invitation suite – we’re really quite thrilled with how it turned out!

In the meantime, I thought today’s Foto Friday should feature a glimpse of our honeymoon destination – Guanajuato, Mexico. It’s not what people envision when they think of Mexico and that’s exactly what we wanted. Something off the beaten (North American) tourist path. Somewhere that allowed us to live out our “sitting in a cafe in a beautiful historical city” visions. Guanajuato turned out to be perfect.

Question: What are your plans for this weekend? It’s a long weekend here in Canada so I’m sure I’ll get up to some chelaxing (chilling + relaxing)!

Some of us poor bastards are lucky enough to work all weekend. Well, except for the holiday Monday - which I would have liked because I'd get paid time & a half!

My mom and stepdad love Guanajato. Lucky retired people, they often fly into Puerto Vallarta and out of Cancun and just mosey their way across. Guanajato is one of their 'must stop' places. So jealous of you right now :)

I hope you guys are having bette weather in the Rockies for your long weekend. Today started out beautiful but now it's cloudy and feels like rain :( Hopefully the rain holds off so I can get some runs in!

Marianne,

I get the weekend off and you get to eat sushi on the Sea Wall at Coal Harbour. Maybe that makes it even! No wait . . . I think you still edged me out! lol

Chilkoot,

I'm always so thrilled to hear of people getting away from the resorts in Mexico! That's awesome!!!

Not that it seems like this from my recent trip to Hawaii (though we started at one of the less touristy islands and liked it better) I think its cool to visit places that not everyone does. Your honeymoon is going to be awesome.

So is your wedding by the way. I hear you on the planning being insane, but it's all worth it on that day I promise :)
