The Last Time I saw Chicken

Dear bloggies:

The last time I saw chicken (or beef or lamb or pork for that matter) it looked something like this . . .

What a strange sentence you probably say - and yes you're right. But above, ladies and gent, is the last time I ate chicken. As of right now I don't plan on having chicken ever again.

I have become a pescatarian.

That's what I'm calling myself - a pescatarian. I eat veggies, lots of fruits, grains, a limited amount of eggs or dairy (no milk), and seafood. But no pork, beef, chicken or lamb (that last one hurts btw). I've been gradually moving towards this point for a while now but I think I'm finally ready to go full-fledged!!

It's actually been weeks since I started and I have yet to stray from my pescatarian lifestyle! :o)

While I could pretend that this shift has to do with the ethics of eating meat and the like (and yes it was a consideration) it primarily has to do with my belly. It talked and I listened! Often after meals I would feel bloated, heavy, and generally unhappy in my tummy. This only happened when I strayed away from fruit/veggies/seafood. Which probably helps to explain why I was gravitating towards this lifestyle anyways.

Since I started my pescatarian way of life I feel better - like oodles better!!! I'm never sluggish or bloated. I always feel great and I love it. And as an additional bonus I've lost about 4lbs!!!!

I figure I can't be the only one who is drastically changing her diet - what changes have you made lately?

I feel like I'm the only one who HASN'T drastically changed their diet - honestly, I can't say anything makes me feel bloated or sluggish unless I eat copious amounts of junk food. But you know, you gotta do what works for you - if it makes you feel good, go with it :)

Good for you!

I've been having a lot of tummy troubles lately. I think I need to analyze my diet and figure out what's causing the problem. A lifestyle overhaul may be in order!

I can't say that I've changed my diet at all. I find that if I declare something "off limits", it's all I want!

You might want to consider the food combining thing that I'm trying now. I won't lie, since then, I don't feel bloated after dinner anymore (before that, I've been feeling sickly bloated that disturb my sleep).

I call your bluff.

Who is hosting the Blogger pool? I want to put money on the 2 year mark.

Marianne,

Then consider yourself fortunate that you haven't had to change anything. Truth be told I kind of heart lamb so it wasn't an easy step. lol :oP

Marlene,

Thanks! :o)

Good luck on figuring out what's bugging your belly!

Susan,

Thanks for dropping by and for the kind words. I hope you'll continue reading AND commenting!!! :O)

Krista,

That's usually the way I am but I've been really good with this one. I guess I crave bread not meat! lol :oP

Coco,

I'm going to have to catch up on your blog and take a look at what's working for you! :o)

Veronica,

LOL I didn't say I'm never going to eat meat/lamb/pork/chicken again. But for now I'm really happy staying away from it. Holidays may call for exceptions.

Or as my sister put it: "WHAT!?!??! A pescatarian!?!? I'm bringing Toulouse sausage to Toronto. Guess you won't be having any!"

lol :oP
