And the word of the day is . . . Priorities!!!

Hola Bloggies:

I know I promised a food related post but I think I should address something else instead.

Priorities.

We all lead very busy lives and somewhere in the midst of the chaos we try to prioritize. Problem is, if you're anything like me, you tend to sometimes forget what's really important.

When I left the West Coast last August I totally had my priorities stress. I took time out to enjoy life. I spent loads of time with the Fiance (then bf). I worked out religiously and I was successful at work too. Somehow when I moved to the Rockies I lost my way. I lost my routine.

I know people say your city can really affect your lifestyle but I had no idea how true that was until I moved here. Instead of living in an amazingly walkable city by the ocean, I found myself in a car happy place with no access to ocean strolls. Admittedly I hit a funk. Said funk coincided with the start of a new job.

Slowly I found myself working more (way more!!!) and working out way (!) less. Trust me when I say this is a recipe for disaster. :o(

This week I will be heading back to the Coast. This will give me time to relax in a spectacular setting AND visit my trainer for what is sure to be a series of ass kicking workouts. Don't worry I've specifically requested said butt-kicking.

At the end of this trip I hope to have a renewed zest for life (right now I'm kind of burnt out). I also hope to leave Victoria having re-established a workout routine. But most importantly I hope to get my priorities in order. Above all there has to be my faith. Family (which includes the puppy) has to rank right up there too. Ditto for my health. And work must fall below all of those things.

'Cause seriously - what good does it do me to be a brilliant lawyer if I lose the more important things along the way?!?

So here I am checking out from the middle of the Rockies - next time I write it will be from beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia. :o)

Hasta Pronto!!!!

hey Karen, I really hope this trip makes you re-organize and re-prioritize your current schedule so you can incorporate more time and energy to do/be with what/who you like. Just you said, it means nothing to be a successful lawyer if that's the only thing you are. :)

It's so easy to get lost in the every-day and forget about what really matters. Enjoy your time at the coast and good luck finding your way!
