I don't know about your week but mine has felt very long. Mostly, I've felt stressed and kind of worn down.
I make it a point not to discuss my work too much in this blog but suffice it to say that I'm a lawyer (of the criminal kind) and on a daily basis I get to deal with some pretty terrible things. Don't get me wrong, I love my job. It's fascinating, challenging, and I really get to make a difference. But there are some times when I just need a break.
And so this weekend I'm taking some R&R. Well not totally. It's still work related but only a couple of hours in the weekend will be dedicated to work type activities.
I'll be spending my weekend in a beautiful mountain resort in the Canadian Rockies not to far from where the Columbia River begins. This resort is known for a couple of things: skiing, great hiking, and hot springs. HOT SPRINGS!!! Woohoo!! I love hot springs. There's a ton of them in the Rockies. Some are wild and you can get to them by hiking in. Others are attached to resorts and spas. All of them however are awesome.
I don't know what it is about sitting in a hot spring in the middle of winter that leaves you feeling so relaxed. It's just what the Doctor ordered!
While at the resort I'll make sure to get in some exercise in their fitness center and with a 6am yoga session on Saturday with the other lawyers. Can't wait to see some of them attempt to warrior 2 their way through class.
It should be good! In fact it should be great! I'm excited!!
I'll be back on Monday when I'll attempt my version of Chandra's crap free week. I'll avoid caffeine, artificial sweeteners (dear God how will I live without my Crystal Light), dairy, bread, and cereals. It should help to get me back on track with my eating habits. Especially helpful considering I'll be undertaking a new personal training regime (more on that later).
Happy Weekend!

I've got to try this crap-free week real soon... enjoy skiing! :)
